The University of Bergamo Top International Students’ Scholarship is offered every year by the University of Bergamo to promote the participation of international students in its Master’s degree programmes. The University offers 6 study grants of €8,000 gross per year to deserving EU and Non-EU students who wish to enrol in the first year of a Master’s degree course taught in English. Each grant covers two academic years (2026–2027 and 2027–2028), totalling €16,000. The GRE (Revised General Test) is compulsory in order to apply, and grants are awarded solely on the basis of GRE test score reports. The grant is paid in 4 instalments and is conditional upon the student’s actual admission and enrolment in the chosen MA degree programme, physical arrival in Bergamo, and meeting the required credit acquisition milestones. Applications must be submitted online by July 10, 2026.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this programme, applicants must meet the following:

The titles required for admission to the chosen MA programme must have been obtained outside the Italian education system, after at least three years of attendance (titles issued by institutions of the Republic of San Marino do not satisfy this condition)
Candidates can be either EU or Non-EU citizens
Candidates must meet all the requirements for admission to the MA programme of choice at the time of application
Candidates must not currently be enrolled in a First, Single, or Second Cycle degree programme at the University of Bergamo
Candidates must not be over 30 years old by the deadline for applications
Candidates must have taken the GRE (Revised General Test) after 31 March 2023 and submit an official score report
Candidates must not already hold a scholarship from the University of Bergamo, the Regional Board for the Right to Higher Studies, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), CRUI grants for beneficiaries of international protection, or grants within the Erasmus Mundus programme

Selection Criteria

Candidates are selected by a specially appointed board whose assessments are approved by the Head of the International Office. Selection is based solely on GRE (Revised General Test) scores. In the event of equal scores, the younger candidate is selected. The selection outcomes will be published by August 7, 2026 on the University of Bergamo’s official website. Successful applicants will be notified by email and are required to confirm their acceptance by August 24, 2026.
