The ACU Stipend Scholarship is funded by Australian Catholic University (ACU) and awarded and administered in accordance with the ACU Research Training Program Scholarship Policy. The scholarship supports both domestic and international candidates undertaking a Research Doctorate or Research Master’s degree at ACU, and is open to applicants whose proposed research aligns with any of ACU’s broad areas of expertise across education, health sciences, law and business, theology and philosophy, and related fields. Applications open twice per year in April and October and are assessed through a merit-based competitive selection process. Prospective students apply as part of the research degree application process through the ACU Graduate Research School. Current students can download the application form from the Student Portal and submit it along with the required supporting documentation to the Graduate Research School by email at grs@acu.edu.au.

- Living stipend of AUD $34,315 per year
- Full tuition fee offset — approximately AUD $34,728 per year
- Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for eligible international students
- Relocation allowance of up to AUD $2,000 for eligible international students
- Available for Research Master’s and Research Doctorate programs

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this programme, applicants must meet the following:
- Must be a domestic student or an overseas (international) student enrolled in or applying to an accredited Research Higher Degree at ACU — either a Research Doctorate or a Research Master’s degree
- Must have proposed research that aligns with ACU’s broad areas of research expertise
- Must demonstrate strong academic credentials and research potential

Selection Criteria
The ACU Stipend Scholarship is competitive and awarded through a merit-based selection process. Candidates are assessed on the strength of their academic record, research potential, and the quality and feasibility of their proposed research project. Applications open twice per year .Round 2 closes October 1, 2026 (domestic commencement in February the following year; international commencement in July Research Term C the following year). Prospective students apply through the ACU research degree application process; current students apply through the Student Portal.
