The following scholarships and bursaries are available at Anglia Ruskin University:

ARU Bursary – Up to £300 per year for UK or eligible EU undergraduate and integrated Masters students with an annual household income of £42,875 or less; awarded automatically upon registration
Alumni Scholarship – A 20% fee discount on postgraduate taught courses or a £400 discount on postgraduate research programmes for ARU graduates returning for further study; assessed automatically upon application
Sport Scholarship – £1,400 to £12,500 per year for undergraduate and postgraduate students competing at regional, national or international level; requires a completed application form and supporting statement
MBA Scholarship – £4,000 fee reduction for a one-year MBA or £2,000 for a two-year MBA with professional experience, for postgraduate students at the Cambridge or Chelmsford campus; considered automatically upon application
The Mark Wood CBE Art and Design Award – £2,500 for ARU graduates applying to a Masters course at Cambridge School of Art, automatically awarded to the applicant with the highest undergraduate marks

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for ARU scholarships and bursaries, applicants must meet the following general requirements:

Must be enrolled or applying for enrollment at Anglia Ruskin University in an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate programme
ARU Bursary: must be a UK or eligible EU student with a household income of £42,875 or less per year
Alumni Scholarship: must be an ARU graduate applying for a postgraduate taught or research degree
Sport Scholarship: must compete at regional, national or international level in a recognised sport
MBA Scholarship: must be a postgraduate student applying to one of four eligible MBA courses at Cambridge or Chelmsford
Mark Wood CBE Art and Design Award: must have completed an undergraduate degree at ARU and applied to a Masters course at Cambridge School of Art
Music Therapy Entry Bursary: must be registered on the MA Music Therapy degree at ARU
Royal Town Planning Institute Scholarship: must be a UK student who has applied to study MSc Town Planning at ARU
If eligible for more than one scholarship, the highest-value award will be given (except the Alumni Scholarship, which can be combined with certain others)

Selection Criteria

Selection processes vary by scholarship. The ARU Bursary, Alumni Scholarship, and Mark Wood CBE Art and Design Award are all awarded automatically based on eligibility criteria, with no application required from the student. The Sport Scholarship requires a formal application and a supporting statement outlining athletic achievement. The MBA Scholarship is considered automatically at the time of course application. The Music Therapy Entry Bursary requires a letter to the Course Director submitted by 1 October of the year of entry. The Royal Town Planning Institute Scholarship requires a supporting statement included with the course application, and is awarded to one eligible UK student per year. Where more than one scholarship applies, the highest-value award takes precedence.
