The Suncor Emerging Leaders Awards in Engineering are offered annually by the University of Waterloo to four or more outstanding undergraduate students in Engineering and Science programs. Three scholarships are awarded to students entering first year in Chemical, Civil, Environmental or Mechanical Engineering, and one scholarship is awarded to a student entering first year of the Science and Business program or second year of an Earth Sciences program. Each scholarship is valued at up to $10,000 and is payable over four years for all programs, except for Earth Sciences students where the scholarship is payable over the last three years of the program.

This scholarship will provide the following to its recipients:
- Up to $10,000 per scholarship
- Four or more scholarships awarded annually
- Payable over four years for Chemical, Civil, Environmental and Mechanical Engineering and Science and Business students
- Payable over the last three years of the program for Earth Sciences students
- Open to Canadian/Permanent Residents and International Students

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following:
- Must be a Canadian citizens, Permanent Residents and International Students
- Applicants must submit their Admission Information Form (AIF)
- Eligible program include Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.
- Must have outstanding academic performace

Selection Criteria
Selection is based on academic performance, the Admission Information Form (AIF) and an online interview. No application is required as all eligible students entering the qualifying programs at the University of Waterloo are automatically considered at the time of admission.
