Sabancı University Graduate Scholarships are awarded to almost all students admitted to the university’s academic graduate programmes, with the vast majority receiving full exemption from annual tuition fees alongside a monthly stipend, a free dormitory room, transportation support, private health insurance, a laptop computer, and limited conference support. Scholarships are offered under five categories: the Distinguished Science and Technology Scholarship (for exceptionally successful PhD students in Engineering and Natural Sciences, with the possibility of co-supervision and joint PhD degrees with leading world institutions)

Sabancı University is a private research university located in Tuzla, Istanbul, Turkey, founded in 1999 by the Sabancı Foundation. Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this programme, applicants must meet the following:

Must be admitted to one of Sabancı University’s academic graduate programmes (Master’s or Doctorate)
Open to both Turkish and international students; the Distinguished Science and Technology Scholarship is exclusively for PhD candidates in the Graduate School of Engineering and Natural Sciences who are of exceptionally successful standing or have passed the PhD qualifying exam
Project Scholarship recipients must be fully supported by an external research grant (TÜBİTAK, industry, NGO, or other), with Sabancı University supplementing the stipend to the guaranteed minimum where necessary
TÜBİTAK BİDEB Scholarship recipients must be enrolled in, or applying to, the TÜBİTAK 2210 National Graduate Scholarship Program (Master’s) or 2211 National Doctorate Scholarship Program (Doctorate)
Scholarship decisions are made on the basis of academic merit during the admissions evaluation process; no separate scholarship application is required

Selection Criteria

Scholarship recommendations are made by the Admission Jury and finalized by the Board of the relevant Graduate School, based entirely on academic merit as demonstrated through the graduate programme application. Distinguished Science and Technology Scholarship recipients are identified through a separate evaluation by a dedicated scholarship committee, which considers exceptional academic credentials. No separate scholarship application is required; all applicants to academic graduate programmes are automatically considered for the relevant scholarship type during the admissions evaluation process.
