The DAAD EPOS Scholarship for the MSc in Development Economics at Georg-August-Universität Göttingen is offered under the DAAD’s Development-Related Postgraduate Courses (EPOS) programme, which promotes the training of specialists from developing and newly industrialised countries. The scholarship funds the full two-year MSc in Development Economics at the University of Göttingen a programme delivered entirely in English and focusing on quantitative methods, microeconomics, macroeconomics, and empirical research applied to the challenges of economic development. Applicants who wish to pursue the DAAD EPOS scholarship within the MSc Development Economics only need to apply once both for programme admission and for DAAD funding directly through the university; applications sent to DAAD directly will not be considered.

Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, founded in 1737 by King George II of Great Britain, is one of Germany’s oldest, most distinguished, and internationally recognised research universities, located in the historic university city of Göttingen in Lower Saxony. The University is home to more than 26,000 students and has produced more Nobel Prize winners than almost any other institution in Europe, with particular strengths in mathematics, natural sciences, economics, and the social sciences. The Faculty of Business and Economics and its Chair of Development Economics, together with the Centre for Modern Indian Studies (CeMIS), jointly deliver the MSc Development Economics programme, drawing on Göttingen’s deep tradition of development-relevant research and its extensive network of international academic partners.
