Concordia University offers a comprehensive range of undergraduate scholarships covering four main categories: Entrance Scholarships, In-Course Scholarships, Concordia Awards, and External Awards. The primary criterion for all scholarships is high academic achievement, and competition is significant. Entrance Scholarships are awarded by the Faculties to new admission candidates on the basis of top CEGEP grades or equivalent, with selection for most scholarships being automatic and based on academic ranking. In-Course Scholarships are awarded automatically by the Undergraduate Scholarships and Awards Committee on the basis of top Assessment GPA (minimum 3.30), with no application required for the majority of awards. Concordia Awards require a formal application, with most opening in August each year.

Selection Criteria

For Entrance Scholarships, selection is made by the respective Faculties during the admission processing period, which runs from Winter into Spring until all available awards have been filled. For Faculty of Fine Arts programmes requiring a portfolio submission for admission, selection is based on the portfolio rather than grades. For In-Course Scholarships, candidates are ranked in descending order of Assessment GPA achieved in the preceding academic year, followed by credits completed in the programme, and then Cumulative GPA. Scholarship decisions are normally made during the first two weeks of October each year. The majority of both Entrance and In-Course Scholarships are awarded automatically, with no application needed.
