The QuestBridge National College Match is a highly competitive college admission and scholarship programme offered by QuestBridge a nonprofit organisation that connects high-achieving students from low-income backgrounds with leading colleges and life-changing opportunities. Through the National College Match, eligible high school seniors can apply for free for early admission and a full four-year Match Scholarship at one of 55 prestigious college partners. The process works through a ranking system: applicants rank their preferred college partners in order of preference, and selected Finalists who are “matched” receive early admission and a guaranteed full scholarship to one of the colleges on their list. Students who are not matched through the early round may still access QuestBridge Regular Decision pathways to apply to partner colleges.

Selection Criteria

The National College Match is a two-stage competitive process. In the first stage, QuestBridge reviews all applications and selects a group of Finalists based on academic excellence (primarily A’s in the most rigorous courses available), financial need (household income below $65,000 for a household of four with minimal assets), demonstrated resilience and motivation, and the strength of the written application including essays and responses that showcase the applicant’s unique talents, story, and determination. In the second stage, QuestBridge’s 55 college partners review the Finalist applications and determine matches based on each college’s own admission criteria and the student’s college rankings. Finalists who are matched are admitted early with a guaranteed full four-year scholarship to one of their ranked college partners.
