The Capital University International Students Scholarship Programme (CAPU-ISSP) 2026/2027 is offered by the International Students Office at Capital University (formerly Helwan University) in Egypt, now in its tenth consecutive year. The programme aims to increase the number of international students at the university from countries around the world, in line with the university’s strategic internationalisation goals. Three categories of scholarships are available: Full Grants (24 scholarships) providing 100% exemption from annual tuition fees; 50% Discount Grants (21 scholarships) providing a 50% reduction on annual tuition fees; and Special Programme Grants (15 scholarships) providing 100% exemption from special programme fees only, with regular fees still payable.

Capital University (formerly Helwan University), founded in 1975 and located in Cairo, Egypt, is one of Egypt’s leading public universities, operating across campuses in Helwan and Matarya. The university comprises more than 20 faculties and institutes covering a wide range of disciplines including medicine, engineering, computers and artificial intelligence, pharmacy, science, nursing, arts, law, tourism and hotel management, fine arts, music education, sport science, home economics, nutrition science, applied arts, and education. Benefits of the Programme

This programme will provide the following to its recipients:

100% exemption from annual tuition fees (Full Scholarship).
50% reduction in annual tuition fees (Partial Scholarship).
100% exemption from special programme fees for selected special programmes (students still pay the regular annual tuition fees)

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this programme, applicants must meet the following:

Must be an international student applying to Capital University through the “Study in Egypt” platform (http://admission.study-in-egypt.gov.eg/) with Capital University selected as the first choice
Must obtain a preliminary nomination letter for the academic year 2026–2027 from the “Study in Egypt” platform
Must submit all required documents by the deadline of August 15, 2026 at 23:59:59 CDT
Priority will be given to applicants who obtained their Thanaweya Amma (High School) Certificate in the 2025–2026 academic year
For postgraduate applicants: must hold a copy of the most recent academic qualification (Bachelor’s degree, Licentiate degree, or Diploma)
Must maintain at least an overall grade of “Good” to retain the scholarship in subsequent academic years

Selection Criteria

Applications are reviewed by an independent panel that evaluates submitted applications and selects scholarship winners. Incomplete applications or those with missing information and attachments may not be considered. Priority in selection is given to applicants who obtained their Thanaweya Amma (High School) Certificate in the 2025–2026 academic year. The Admissions Office reserves the right to request official or certified printed copies of certificates if necessary to evaluate the application. Scholarship continuation in subsequent years is conditional upon the student achieving at least an overall grade of “Good” and obtaining an annual renewal letter from the International Students Office.
