The Padua International Excellence Scholarship Programme is offered by the University of Padova to brilliant international students who wish to attend an English-taught Bachelor’s or Master’s degree course at the university. Up to 68 scholarships are available, and the selection process is highly competitive only candidates with the highest scores and the best academic track record can succeed. No separate scholarship application is required; applying to the degree course of interest automatically makes an applicant eligible to compete for the award, provided they meet the eligibility requirements listed in the Call for Application. The scholarship is allocated in two instalments of €4,000 gross each per academic year, upon fulfilment of the academic requirements specified in the selection notice. Beneficiaries are only required to pay the regional fee and the revenue stamp per academic year.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this programme, applicants must meet the following:

  • Must not hold Italian citizenship (unless it is a dual citizenship)
  • Must hold a non-Italian secondary school diploma (for Bachelor’s/Single-Cycle degree applicants) or a foreign degree diploma (for Master’s degree applicants)
  • Must not be resident in Italy at the time of application
  • Must apply to an English-taught degree programme at the University of Padova within the application deadline
  • Must not be a recipient of another scholarship at the time of enrolment
  • Must complete enrolment at the University of Padova to receive the scholarship

Selection Criteria

The Teaching Committee of each degree course selects the admitted candidates who will be awarded a scholarship, based on academic excellence in their field of study and the quality and results of their previous academic career. No separate scholarship application is required — applying for the chosen degree programme automatically enters eligible candidates into the scholarship competition. Scholarships are primarily awarded to candidates from the first application call; on an exceptional basis, Teaching Committees may award scholarships to candidates from the second call. Scholarship results are published on the University of Padova website according to the deadlines specified in the Admission Notice. Selected candidates receive a specific notice outlining the procedures and deadline for accepting the financial benefit. To maintain the scholarship, recipients must earn at least 20 ECTS credits (CFU) by the 30th of November of the following academic year.
